

For every destructive habit you have, decide to replace them by equal effort positive habits that are conducive towards your goal over a period of weeks. Of course, be sure to note your results in your psychic journal.
This method is quite essential in staying motivated with your psychic practices later on. Probably the largest challenge in these beginning stages is maintaining motivation. Especially when doing mental training exercises such as these, the mind opposes and makes difficult any attempts to train it. What this means is that you may suddenly be deciding to conveniently “forget” to do the exercise, put it off, and perform other psychological trickery upon yourself (like convincing yourself you will do it later but never do so, or suddenly become tired when it is time to practice).
This tends to happen because you are stuck in certain habits that do not have to do with Psionics and mental discipline.
Since man is a creature of habit, beginning practice is difficult because you are disrupting your current habits and thought patterns.
When acts (such as surfing the internet or practicing meditation) are performed multiple times, there is a tendency to repeat thoughts having to do with said acts. Essentially, you can replace your negative habits and thoughts with positive ones and this tends to be beneficial in staying motivated.
If you are serious about Psionics and maintaining mental discipline, you should attempt to persevere with your efforts, because if you do so, eventually these efforts will result in a new thought pattern, which you will like to stick to as much as you like sticking to your current routine.
You should try to co-operate with your subconscious, instead of trying to force exercises upon it with negligible results. Make these processes something you enjoy doing, not something that is a chore. Record instances when you lack motivation, and try to link them to events and patterns in your life. You should endeavor to practice at optimal times with mindsets that will be most effective.
Goal #2: Train your mind to be an appropriate machine for performing psychic acts.
All psychic work begins from within and is projected outwardly. Almost always there is an interaction between the psychic and his/her environment when performing psychic abilities. You can only work on the environment indirectly, but you can directly alter your subjective self.
The goal of our mind here is to act as a machine which produces the power necessary to cause psychic acts (such as getting what you want, performing telekinesis, or telepathically sending messages). If the parts of a complex power producing machine don't operate in a coordinated way, the machine may produce too little power, supply power in the wrong place, or simply be incapable of supplying power at all.
Every part of the machinery of the mind must be tuned to act in a coordinated manner. Our goal here is to take the machinery of the mind and find out which parts do not work in unison. Strive to be like a mechanic. Analyze the machinery of your mind, and adjust its various parts to act in unison. Observe the effect of each of your changes using your psychic journal.
Our goal in this beginner tutorial is to help you adjust parts of yourself to make your psychic acts more efficient. How do we do this?
Psionics is a discipline of thoughts. You should endeavor to gain control over your own thought processes. In this course, we will focus on helping you gain control over your thought processes in such a way as to help you both learn psionics, and accomplish your goals as set forth by you in exercises one, two, & three.
You should complete the thought primer we have provided before proceeding to trying things such as telepathy or telekinesis. The purpose of the thought primer is to help you be more efficient in directing your thought processes, since we have found that by thinking in certain ways, psychic results can follow.

We have observed through trial and error that visualization coupled with a desire or will is effective in causing psychic abilities to happen. You must gain control over your visualizations to the extent that you're able to maintain visualizations without too many breaks in focus.
