Remember that goals sheet that you created in exercise #1, and the goal you are focusing on currently from exercises #2 & #3? The desire would be your goal in this context. If you were learning telekinesis, the desire would be “move this object with telekinesis”.
Caution: Avoid the use of the word “want” in your desire. An example would be: “I want to move this object with telekinesis”. This is bad because the technique you employ could result in you “wanting to move this object with telekinesis” even more, instead of actually moving the object with telekinesis.
You must have, as well as strongly represent, the intent to fulfill your desire. If you do not have an intent or will to follow through, you’re just daydreaming. Work on focusing this intent.
Example: My desire must be fulfilled because it is my intent for the fulfillment to be so.
Having this state of mind during your working(“working” means engaging in the practice of the technique & fulfillment of your desire) is advantageous.
This symbol could be a clear (this takes training) mental image, a physical device, a sound, a physical image, a video, a piece of art, or a play. By your own creativity, devise others.

Thoughtforms are accidental constructs(programmed “energy”). Sometimes you make these when you're being negative about situations. One of the purposes of exercises 1-5 was to help you eliminate the creation of negative accidental constructs, in favor of positive ones.
When focusing on your symbol of choice, it is in your best interest to remember to focus on the intent of the symbol, rather than “I hope this symbol representation of what I want to do works”. Beginning practitioners tend to focus on the “will this work” aspect of the symbol, rather than the symbol itself. This tends to have a negative effect.
